A Letter from Andrew Januik

Throughout the last two immensely tumultuous weeks, there has been a never-ending flow of thoughts and emotions. First, the sadness and anger over seeing George Floyd murdered on camera by an authority figure with no remorse. Then, the feeling of betrayal; that we have kept our eyes closed to such injustices and systemic racism in our society for so long.

Although community involvement has been one of the most important parts of my adult life, I don’t typically mix my personal beliefs into business life. However, this is not the time for remaining silent or on the sidelines. In an effort to try and do a small part in moving towards a more just world, I will donate 100% of the proceeds from Andrew Januik Wine sales from June 12 – 14 to Campaign Zero.

Campaign Zero is doing amazing work in communities all over the country to end police violence through legislation, and I encourage you to learn more about their organization.

Despite all of the grief that has occurred over the last two weeks, it has been incredible to see communities coming together and building momentum towards change. Personally seeing some of you down at the Seattle protests and others standing up for justice in other ways has led me to much greater optimism that we can start making true steps towards ending the deeply ingrained racism that has plagued our country for centuries.
